The following is a list containing items that should be taken with you when birding. Consider the weather and dress appropriately by staying warm and comfortable in cold weather and staying dry in rain by wearing rain-proof jackets, boots, and backpacks. Also, invest in a birders vest which has many pockets for carrying field guides, binoculars, sunscreens, and many other items.
If you are traveling abroad, make sure you have any certificates that might be needed and have your passport readily available.
A word of caution: If you are birding around the hunting season, be very careful and do not try to hide. If you hear hunters and they are close to you, shout to them so that they are aware of your presence.
